Beaufort, SC is gearing up for the 58th annual Water Festival. The week long event opens July 19th at 7pm with the Parris Island Marine CORP Band and a spectacular Fireworks display. Each evening brings a different theme so there is something for everyone. There will be Arts and Crafts displayed daily on the promenade at the Water Front Park, along with events such as raft races, water ski shows, shrimp boat tours, dance contests and much more. A local favorite event is the bed races where someone is sure to get soaked with icy water.
The Water Festival attracts visitors from all over the country and this year's Summer in the South hopes to do the same. The weekday themes are:
MoTown Monday, Tropical Tuesday, Talent Show Wednesday, Low Country Supper Thursday, River Dance Friday.
The final weekend includes the Grand Parade, the Commodore’s Ball, and the Blessing of the Fleet and Parade of Boats. Bring the family and your yard chairs and enjoy one of Beaufort's finest festivals!
